Weekly Photo Challenge: Today Was a Good Day

Picture of row houses in Amsterdam along canal.

I love Amsterdam and long to return someday. At this time last year, only three weeks remained until the day my plane touched down in the Netherlands. This week’s photo challenge calls for posting a series of pictures that represent a good day. Though long and exhausting, that first day involved arriving midday, catching a train, walking to the hotel in the Jordaan District, finding out the room wasn’t ready yet, gorging on pancakes in the Upstairs Pancake House before taking a canal ride, eating some of the best seafood ever at  Visaandeschelde, and then wandering in the Red Light District.

Three days and two nights was not enough to explore this exquisitely captivating city. I want to wander and get lost forever in Amsterdam.

Feel free to advance through the slides below for highlights of that first day.

    • Jacquie, Amsterdam was a last-minute addition when the vacation got expanded from one week to two weeks, and the irony is I would have rather spent more time in Amsterdam than Munich. Live and learn, I guess.

  1. Great pics, Jeri. So glad it was a good day.

The last time my husband and I were in Amsterdam, we got lost, and couldn’t find our car. We couldn’t remember which canal we parked by. GAH!

  2. Bravo Jeri! Love the photos. The buildings remind me of gingerbread houses with vanilla icing on the top. I happen to like this treat at Christmas. Thank you for sharing your art work. Enjoy the day. 🙂
