Weekly Photo Challenge: Descent

Picture of Santorini Stairs

The staircases that twist their way down the slopes of Santorini, Greece create a sight that is at once serene and jumbled. The more a person looks, the more there is to see. Even though I only had about six hours to spend on the island, I loved every minute of the visit. Each stairway conjured a different type of descent, but I picked this one for this week’s photo challenge because it contained the best balance of sea, stairs, and terraces. I wonder what the two people sitting in the shade are thinking?

  1. Maybe they are thinking, “Do we really need to ever leave?” 🙂 Ironic, as Santorini has been on my mind off/on lately, Jeri! I just now looked up R/T airfare and what kind of itinerary it takes to get to Thira. Not too shabby. Good post and another fantastic picture 🙂
