This is my last post until October 3rd. How sad to miss three photo challenges, but I am going to be traipsing around Germany and surrounding countries for Oktoberfest!
Many of my weekends are consumed with outdoor pursuits. This week’s photo challenge calls for depicting an adventure, and to me, that entails the excitement of going somewhere. Almost anywhere will do, but being in nature ranks among my favorite pastimes. This picture from 2009 shows hubby against the backdrop of the Kootenai River in northwest Montana. He taught himself how to fly fish by watching YouTube videos. Go figure.
The mystique of Montana waters also brings to mind one of my favorite literary quotes of all time from Norman MacLean’s novel A River Runs Through It.
Eventually, all things merge into one, and a river runs through it. The river was cut by the world’s great flood and runs over rocks from the basement of time. On some of those rocks are timeless raindrops. Under the rocks are the words, and some of the words are theirs. I am haunted by waters.
